Who planted the first white hydrangeas in Antioquia?
The first hectare of white hydrangea in Antioquia was planted at San Isidro, the family farm founded by Daniel Piedrahita in La Ceja. Today the farm grows natural white and 255 tinted colors on 15 hectares.
Can buyers visit the farm?
Yes. Buyers are welcome to visit the farm in La Ceja, Antioquia; write to us to arrange the visit.
Can you supply hydrangeas all year round?
Yes. At 2,200 m in the Andes the climate barely changes, so we harvest 52 weeks a year, about 50,000 stems a week.
Which hydrangea colors do you grow?
Natural white, our flagship, plus 255 tinted references: 36 tint families in light, regular and dark, and 23 hand-painting techniques such as Bicolor, Metallic, Antique, Tie Dye and Vintage. See our tinted hydrangeas guide.
What sizes are available?
Export grades by head diameter: Mini Green (8–10 cm, 50 stems per box), Selecta (16–17 cm, 40), Premium (18–19 cm, 35), Extra (20–21 cm, 30) and Jumbo (over 21 cm, 20). Stems are 60 cm, packed one grade and one color per quarter box (QB, 98 × 28 × 12 cm).
Importers and wholesalers
Which countries do you export to?
We ship to the United States, the Netherlands, England, China, South Korea, Panama, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. Estimated transit after delivery at the airport in Medellín or Bogotá ranges from 1 day (United States, Panama) to 8 days (United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan).
How do you ship hydrangeas abroad?
Mostly by air freight in a cold chain: cut in the morning, hydrated, graded and packed at the farm, pre-cooled and trucked refrigerated to the airport. Sea freight in reefer containers is possible for high-volume programs where transit time allows. See how we export.
What documents travel with an export shipment?
San Isidro is registered with ICA, Colombia's plant-health authority, as a hydrangea producer and exporter. Shipments leave with the export paperwork and, where the destination requires it, an ICA phytosanitary certificate. Your customs broker clears the flowers and the importing country inspects them on arrival.
How do I start buying from you?
Send your destination, arrival airport, grades, colors and volumes. We quote FOB Medellín or FOB Bogotá, per grade and color family. The minimum export order is 20 quarter boxes (QB). First orders are paid in advance by bank transfer; a credit line is then set according to each client.
What happens if flowers arrive damaged?
Send photographic evidence of the flowers, the box and its label within 5 days of receiving the shipment. If the problem is shown to come from the farm, we issue a credit note.
Supermarket and retail chains
Do you supply supermarkets and retail chains?
Yes. For chains we quote programs by volume and frequency. Tell us your delivery points, weekly stems, grades, colors and presentation (loose stems or bunches).
Can you deliver with sleeves, barcodes or private label?
Yes. We can supply hydrangeas with sleeves, barcodes and your private label. Send your chain's packing and labeling specifications to quote.
Do you work on consignment?
No. We sell on firm orders; we don't work on consignment.
Do you offer volume pricing or standing-order terms?
No. Our prices don't change with volume, and we don't run fixed-price weekly or seasonal programs. Prices are quoted per grade and color family.
Can you sell bunched hydrangeas?
Yes, hydrangeas can be prepared in bunches. Tell us the bunch size you need when you request a quote.
Florists and online florists
Can a florist abroad buy directly from the farm?
Yes, usually through your importer or freight forwarder. The minimum export order is 20 quarter boxes (QB). Tell us your city and weekly needs.
How long do Colombian hydrangeas last?
With proper rehydration on arrival — a fresh diagonal cut and deep, cool, clean water — vase life of 7 to 15 days is normal. A 30–45 minute full-head soak revives a dehydrated natural white bloom; don't soak tinted heads, because the color can run.
Wedding and event planners
Can you match a Pantone or brand color?
Very often, yes. With 36 tint families and 23 techniques we can get remarkably close. Send the reference and we confirm with photos before you commit.
I'm planning a wedding in Colombia. Can I buy from you?
Yes. We deliver anywhere in Colombia within days, including Cartagena, Medellín and Bogotá. See wedding and event flowers in Colombia.
Which hydrangea is most popular for weddings?
White. Our natural white hydrangea is the flower that made San Isidro a pioneer. Read the white hydrangea guide and our seasonal idea book.
Other farms, exporters and consolidators
Do you sell hydrangeas to other farms or exporters to complete their boxes?
Yes. If your farm, exporter or consolidator needs white or tinted hydrangeas to complete assortments or mixed boxes, we quote by grade and color. Send quantities and dates.
Can you tint hydrangeas to order?
Yes. Tinted stems get their color the same day they are cut, with 36 tint families and 23 hand-painting techniques. Painted heads should be kept dry: the alcohol-based paint can run when wet.
What is your capacity for large orders?
About 50,000 stems a week, all year, from 15 hectares in La Ceja. For large volumes we plan cutting dates in advance.
By market
Do you ship to the United States, Europe and Asia?
